If I cancel renewal will my WHOIS info become public for 130 days?
If I cancel my current private domain and my website and switch providers or no longer wish to continue service or use the domain name, will this automatically put my personally identifiable information from WHOIS and attach it to the domain name for the 130 days until the domain name enters the public and is purchasable again? Or does my private domain protection extend to the period where my domain name becomes available? I would not want a gap where my private information is made available to the public.
Thanks for the question. It will depend on the registrar, but as far as I know, the domain information is replaced with the domain registrar's information. This keeps the domain from showing your WHOIS info. Please consult with your domain registrar for further details.
Kindest regards,
