When I access to mywebsite/index.php, the index.php becomes downloaded

I just uploaded all the source codes to public_html/, all files become downloaded when I type the url like mywebsite/index.php. Even if I put a test.php file with content which still becomes downloaded. Is that any reason to cause that issue? Thx

Hello eshopfriend, Thank you for your question. I have seen this type of issue before. Most of the time, this type of problem is due to conflicting code in your .htaccess file. As a test, try renaming your .htaccess file, then reloading your site. You may have to clear your browser cache as well.
