Changing Specials Label to display percentage instead of "Sale" text

I'm new to opencart, I do not know how to display the percentage on the special label. Currently it is showing "Sale" text.

There is not a simple way to change this, but I was able to find a post on the OpenCart Forums in which an extension was provided to make a change similar to what you are looking for. You may be able to use this extension either as-is, or modify the code for it.
