503 Error and rejected email

Hello,

I have an email account in a shared hosting plan. If I send something from web based email, it goes through fine. If I send it from my Outlook 2013, I get a system administrator email that says it's undeliverable "503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA". I am pretty sure I have my Outlook settings correct. Any ideas?

Hello, Thank you for your 503 error question today. This is a common error when the outgoing email is not set up for authentication. You can check our article on Outlook 2013 email setup and look to about Step 7. There you will see the setting. Ensure that is enabled on your Outlook, regardless of version, and it should help.
