connecting to postgresql database from outside application

I have an app hosted on heroku and I was thinking to connect it to one of the postgresql databases on my inmotion account, how can I do so?

Hello, Thank you for your postgresql question. Our shared servers do not allow remote connection to the PostgreSQL port as it is closed. PostGreSQL can be accessed only by local connection on the shared servers . Our VPS and Dedicated servers can either open the port or IP restrict it so that it stays secure and can be remotely accessed. Kindest Regards, Scott M
