adding htaccess content to file manager

Hello, I had vpn server before and now I switched over to dedicated server and for some reason my htaccess file made my site crash so now we removed it and this is inside my htaccess file

ErrorDocument 404 /index.php?error=404


I was using htaccess to help with the site compression- my images optimization maybe? Please help? I can't find anything on the web to help ): I'm not sure what codings to put inside anymore... the ones that used to work isn't~

Hello [email protected], In regards to what you should put in your .htaccess for image compression, I would suggest using wordpress plugins to achieve image and website optimization. One I would suggest is WP Super Cache. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Best Regards, TJ Edens
