Cannot create a database at the MySQL command prompt

When logging into MySQL and trying to create a database using "create database my_db;" I get an access error. I don't want to use PHPmyadmin for all of my MySQL activity ... can I not create DBs from inside of MySQL??

Hello cfusch, Thank you for your question about creating a database from command prompt. I spent some time testing this, and was able to create databases when logged is a MySQL Root. If you have root access to your server, you can Create/Reset your MySQL Root password in WHM. Alternately, you can submit a ticket requesting "MySQL Root access.
