Create a symbolic link without root access

I am moving our existing website to inmotion VPS and notices that several of our PHP files have hard coded paths. Is there a way I can get a symbolic link for the path created without requesting root access? I would like to not have to based on the disclaimers in the Request Root page on your site and a symbolic link would make things much easier.

Hello jim.gilbert, Thank you for your question about a symbolic link (symlink). As long as you do not need access to anything owned by root, it shouldn't be a problem.
