Can't Use SSH/Shell on my Server

I am trying to access my server via SSH/Shell to install FFMPEG for a web-application, but it I can't connect via PUTTY as the connection simply times out and via the JAVA applet it doesn't connect. I though it was enabled for shared hosts, but my account does not appear to be activated.

Hello, Sorry for the problem with connecting with SSH. I double-checked the server and your access to SSH is definitely enabled. I also asked about FFMPEG. You would not be able to install that application on a shared server account. You would need to be on a VPS or Dedicated server to use it. If you continue to have problems with access to SSH, please call into our live support while you're trying to connect and they can walk you through the process.
