Hello Jimt,
Sorry for the issues with the bad clicks (links?) on your website. The issue is still a bit vague for us to give you definitive information. Are you searching for "Clyde Machines" and getting bad links that are linked to your website? Are you the only result for the keyword search? (your site, I mean). Depending on the search engine, have you tried to reach out to the search engine developer/owner and see if corrections can be made? For example, Google search console allows you to submit corrections for bad search results in Google. Make sure to answer these questions first, or provide more information on the domain being searched. We can then look ourselves and provide a better assessment of the issue.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.
Kindest regards,
Arnel C.
whoops,,,you miss understand my dilemma: we have a 'pay for click' site and the competition is clicking on this site to run up our 'costs' for advertising. So by seeing is IP address can we pin point who this culprit is?
The software you are using to manage your pay-for-click campaign should be able to provide some level of tracking and validation. For example, you can track "invalid clicks" on Google Ads. Depending on the visitor's privacy settings, you can view some IP address information in AWSTATS, but Google does not provide IP address information.
Also, your cPanel access logs can provide some raw access data that might help identify unique visitors.
