I have recently tested Piwigo integration with Linux Mint 18.2 Sonia and Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS .Its works like a charm and quite stable solutions. its most updated, secure and customizable web gallery solution to date.

PIWIGO is open-source and it appears to have been updated recently, but in comparison, though ZenPhoto is not it does to be currently updated, and might be little more professional looking. You will need to make decision yourself, in order to determine would be better for you purposes.
