AMP Security Features

The security of your hosting account begins in your Account Management Panel (AMP). And the great thing is, you can give yourself a complete security check-up by just following these steps:

How to Update Username and Password

You can easily update your username and password right here in the Login & Security page.

  1. Log into your AMP
  2. Hover over My Account
  3. Click Login & Security from the dropdown
  4. Click the Account Management Panel dropdown
  5. Update username and password as needed

How to Enable Two Factor Authentication

What is it? Two-factor authentication basically adds an extra layer of security aside from your username and password combination. It makes it virtually impossible for an ordinary hacker to access your account.

Check out our full guide on how to enable two-factor authentication.

Verification

The easiest way to verify a live contact, provide a secret hashcode you’ll find here. You can also input a custom passphrase for you or your developer.

  1. Log into your AMP
  2. Hover over My Account
  3. Click Login & Security from the dropdown
  4. Click the Verification dropdown

Root (For VPS and Dedicated Servers)

Now you can easily request a root password reset right from within the login and security page. From the main page, click the Root dropdown menu. All you need to do is input your current AMP password and click Reset Root Password.

  1. Log into your AMP
  2. Hover over My Account
  3. Click Login & Security from the dropdown
  4. Click the Root dropdown

With root access, you can take full control of your server. However, we can only support the services that we provide as part of the base hosting package.

Once you’ve reset your root password, be sure to note it in a safe location. We recommend using a third-party password manager that can be secured with a passphrase.
