Nothing needs to be installed on a server for HTML5 to work. HTML5 is handled by a user’s web browser, so as long your users are running a web browser that can handle HTML5 code, you can use it.
Which browsers support HTML5?
Even though HTML5 is still under development, many web browsers (such as Chrome / Firefox) do support many of the features of HTML5. No current web browsers actually support all of the features of HTML5 however.
There are several sites on the web that have performed tests to determine which browsers support HTML5. One such example is findmebyip.com. A review of the results shows that Chrome, Firefox, and Safari support many HTML5 features, while Internet Explorer’s HTML5 support is limited.
