How to resolve database connection errors affecting some customers

Our System Administration team is aware that some customers are experiencing error messages related to database connectivity due to MySQL databases requiring repair. While our systems administrators are diligently working to repair any corrupted databases, there are some steps you can take to quickly repair your database on your own for faster resolution.

How do I know if I am having database issues due to this?

The majority of customers with large databases on the affected servers may be experiencing database connection errors. If you are receiving a database connection error within your website, you may have been affected.

How do I resolve the issue?

  2. This fix solved our problems!  Thanks.

    However, can you elaborate on the cause of the problem?  Is there any way to receive emails from the support team about these potential issues?  We had to find out our site was down from a customer – pretty embarrassing.

    1. Hello Chris,

      Thank you for contacting us today. This was caused by maintenance/updates to the servers. We usually send out an email notification, post a list (such as here), post a News announcement (like the article above), or post in our Status page.

      Although, in some cases we are forced to make immediate changes due to security risks, or hardware failures.

      There are also 3rd party monitoring services available online.

  3. I have about 15 websites hosted by you and this has happened now on about 25% of them in the last few days. The fix works on some, but not on others for some reason. 

    I’m assuming you’re still working on your end to try to prevent and remedy this, but will the fix you put in place bring the websites back up that aren’t responding to your suggested fix?

      This fix is a general one that should correct most issues. Of course, there may be some that need additional attention. For those, please contact our Live Support team so they can see what is causing each of the individual databases to malfunction.
