What is the current version of Git on Inmotion?

I'm using a shared server and just issued the terminal command "git --version" and got the response "git version 1.7.1". The 1.7.x versions were current back in 2010-2012. The currently supported versions of Git are 2.4 through 2.14. Are there any plans to bring Git up to date? There have been new and useful functions introduced in the last 5 years. The Git guys probably fixed some bugs as well. Thanks, Tony.

Thanks for your question on Git. I'll pass on your suggestion to our T3 operations team. I wish I had more information but I'm not aware of any plans to update Git on the shared servers.
