I need to point my DNS settings toward another provider and stop hosting at InMotion but I have my primary emails at InMotion how can I point the website in a new direction, cancel the hosting and make sure I don't lose my email in the transition

are th eDNS changes something you can do or it is something I need to do.  I don't know so help would be appreciated

Thank you for this help.  I need to point the NDS settings toward GoDaddy.  I will leave the account open during this transition.

You will avoid losing mail by keeping both accounts active during the change. It will take about 4-24 hours for the DNS changes to fully propagate in the web. During that period you may receive email at both locations. When you're certain all email is arriving at the new location, you can safely stop service.
