InMotion+BoldGrid : images broken and links generated don't use domain name, they use tilde style references
Good morning,
I'm creating a site for the first time (not transferring). I set up an account, and purchased a domain and hosting, and, i'm using BoldGrid to create/manage the site (northluluhuntclub.com).
The problem I'm seeing is that BoldGrid seems to be using tilde style references to links I upload vs using the domain name or a "/" as the relative root for images. I'd like the URLs of all my pages to display/load from the domain name, not the inhosting tilde style url
For example, my images are trying to load from:
http://ecngx303.inmotionhosting.com/~northl32/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/image_72192707-1-225x300.jpg (note the tilde style url)
Instead, I'd like my images to load from:
https://northluluhuntclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/image_72192707-1-225x300.jpg
How can I change the root of my references? I'm guessing BoldGrid just doesn't know I have a domain name?
First time using BoldGrid/InMotion, thanks for the help
Hi,
Thank you for your question regarding WordPress URLs. The tilde-style URL is actually what is referred to as the "temporary URL", which is a generic hostname used by the server. It appears that you may have installed your WordPress site onto this temporary URL rather than the domain name itself. I recommend reviewing the following article for additional information on this topic:
