Why am I getting emails to the cPanel user?
Bounce mail sent to [email protected] (where username is the cpanel username and server is the name of the server--NOT the domain name) seems to all be going into a top-level "bucket" under the /mail/ folder.
While valid mail is delivered to sub-folders beneath this one (e.g. /mail/domain/account/new ), this other mail all seems to be going to this top-level bucket (/mail/new).
The only way to check this bucket is to log into webmail with the cPanel login credentials.
Is there a way to divert this mail to another account, or prevent its reception outright?
I hadn't checked on it recently until today, whereupon I found over 8,000 messages of the "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender" variety. These messages are small individually, but accumulate rapidly.

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm more than happy to assist you today. Can you forward a few of the messages to [email protected] so we can look at the origins of the email?
Once we determine where the emails are coming from, we can determine the best course of action to solve the issue. Once you forward the emails, please post a comment here so I know to check that email account.
If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.
Thanks!
