How Are Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Complaints Handled?
I run a site that shares thousands of military related files for soldiers in the US Army for free. Recently I have had someone who downloaded a lot of my own content and is posting it for sale and in return filing DCMA takedown requests against my site. My current host refuses to validate the claims. For starters, documents created by government personal are considered public domain as they are part of their official duties. Secondly the accuser posts on his site that all his files were "donated" which clearly shows he doesn't own any copyrights to the content he is selling.
If I am to switch to your company for my hosting solutions I need to know if you will simply demand I remove content based off a random DCMA request, or if you will actually do the noble thing and validate that my site does not infringe on any copyrights.
