Email client "(SMTP) secure178.inmotionhosting.com expired" error.
Sending email from my client Thunderbird I often (unpredictably) receive the following error message: "(SMTP) secure178.inmotionhosting.com expired error. Retry.".
Thunderbird email account are set as follows:
Incoming: IMAP
Incoming server: secure178.inmotionhosting.com
Port: 993
SSL: SSL/TLS
Autentication: Normal Password
Username: @.com
Outgoing: SMTP
Outgoing server: secure178.inmotionhosting.com
SSL: SSL/TLS
Port: 465
SSL: SSL/TLS
Autentication: Normal Password
Username: @.com
O.S. Windows 10 build 10586
Thunderbird client version 38.5.1
Antivirus Avast! with "Email SSL scan" disabled.
Thank you for your question regarding SMTP. Did this problem just come up recently or is hit and miss? This error is usually only resolved by removing the email account from Thunderbird and re-adding it back. I would suggest trying that first to see if it resolves the issue.
