How to find "Pages" in WordPress and set the default page

I am new to WordPress. I have a new domain. I created a Page in WordPress but I can't find it in the file system so I can direct the default to be that page...

I changed the .htaccess in file manager (cpanel) order to go to the root of WordPress "dir" This takes it to the wordpress blog part of my page, not to the about page.

Any ideas?

Hello, Thank you for contacting us about setting up your WordPress home page. It sounds like you want to display your new static page as the "Home" page for WordPress instead of the default blog posts. You can do this through the WordPress Customization settings. It is not necessary to use .htaccess in this case. Click on Appearance then Customize and change the Static Front Page option to "A static page", and choose your page. Best, Christopher M.
