Trouble changing banner image in Joomla

I'm having trouble following these instructions because I can't figure out how to do step 4. I can't find 'custom output'.

Hello Birecruitinggroup, Sorry for the problem. The "custom output" option is only part of the interface if the item is a Custom HTML object. If you are working with a custom HTML item and you don't see the button, then please let us know what version of Joomla you're working with and we can investigate the issue further.
