Subdomain beta site move or no

Question regarding best way to approach moving or not moving a Wordpress beta site. I've seen a few options for this but wondered if one is recommended more than others.

We have a site currently on inmotion hosting, cshcn.org
We also have a beta site that will replace this soon enough. Site is being developed in Wordpress. Site is located on a subdomain of cshcn.org.

Question would be whether to either move the site to the root and replace the site currently sitting there. Or just shift where the domain name is pointing to the subdomain.
